The spiritual successor to Square-Enix's critically acclaimed survival horror series Parasite Eve is heading to a PSP near you in Europe, the developer can confirm.

NowGamer contacted Square-Enix for comment. A spokesperson revealed that, "The 3rd Birthday will see a release on PSP in Europe", but that 'a release window has not yet been confirmed'.

Released in Japan and the US only, the first Parasite Eve game was a genius blend of survival horror gunplay and RPG elements, taking a massive queue from the Resident Evil series. It saw rookie cop Aya Brea battling genetic freaks across New York, culminating in a climatic battle next to the Statue of Liberty.

Thankfully the developer did see fit to release the second game in the UK, where it recieved critical acclai but less than favourable sales.

The 3rd Birthday is the spiritual sucessor to the series, with leading lady Aya returning to New York to battle horrific monsters with an unfathomable amount of firepower.
