E3 2010: God of War: Ghost of Sparta Preview

When Kratos made his last appearance on the PSP, the result was one of the best games on the platform. Developer Ready at Dawn did a fantastic job bringing the world of God of War onto the handheld.
Now Ready at Dawn is bringing us another journey with Kratos that's set between God of War and God of War II. After playing the demo, I'm pretty sure we have another excellent game to look forward to.
The demo found Kratos on a ship under attack by a massive sea monster. Before you think this is a repeat of the Hydra battle from God of War, this new creature lashes at you with multiple tentacles and spits spider-like creatures from the ends of them.
The game features all the signature God of War action that fans have come to love, including the ability to toss enemies into the air to unleash your destruction and grab them and rip them apart.
Ripping the spider-like creatures into pieces was particularly satisfying, as was taking the time to learn the attacks of the massive boss and adapt my strategies to compensate.
Ghost of Sparta looks to be another great addition to one of Sony's most popular franchises. We're taking another, more in-depth look at the game on Thursday and will have an update then.
