No co-op for CoD: Black Ops single player campaign

Treyarch’s Mark Lamia has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops’ single player campaign will not feature any form of co-operative play, remaining strictly a solo operation.blackops_08

“Single-player is the epic, cinematic, seat-of-your-pants thrill ride that you star in,” said Lamia, during a chat with MTV Multiplayer. “Then there’s multiplayer, when you want to play competitive with your friends and really chisel and hone your skills and do that addictive experience.”

So, what of the co-op experience exactly? Well, according to Lamia, it’ll form part of an entirely separate, unique slew of game modes designed specifically for when you and a mate fancy teaming up for a spot of tactical terrorist blasting.

“And then co-op is for when you want to have a blast with your friends, just sitting on the couch and having an awesome co-op experience. We’re crafting unique co-op modes around that experience, but it is different than what people think,” he said.

Treyarch is remaining decidedly tight-lipped on the details surrounding the co-op experience at present, though we expect to hear more on the game later this month at E3. Stay tuned.
